"1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters" (Genesis 1, 1). The "Big Bang" theory correlates very well with this description (minus the "waters" thing, although it might have meant something different from what we are picturing in our minds – see "Literalism" section) and, if we think about it, is reminiscent of the powering on of a brand new computer.
The "Big Bang" theory entails a major energy exploding in the middle of somewhere/nowhere (I am not really sure where that "somewhere/nowhere" is) and that the matter and energy that spread formed our universe. Similarly, when we power on our computers there is a "click" (I bet there is a tiny spark somewhere there), and the electricity starts flowing into the system taking over the wires and then the other major parts of the computer system. Just like that, we powered on our computer - "the universe" or "heavens and the earth". For a computer to run, it needs an operating system or "Spirit of God … moving over the surface of the waters". From that scientific approach of ours and some inner vanity let's say that "The Math", or our "Universal Language", is the descriptor of the operating system of our universe, or at least our vision of it. How can it be "The Math" if we invented it? Well, computer programs run within an operating system, obeying its rules, detecting and interacting with it, meaning that they can describe it in their own interpretation. This is exactly what math is to our universe: a language of ours to describe rules of the world as we know it.
Once our computer begins to run with its operating system up, we need programs to execute there; otherwise, it will be a pretty boring device with no purpose. It is up to the owner to decide what programs or applications should be placed there (unless it came pre-packaged from the manufacturer). Although it is hurtful to think so, our universe may not even be an actual computer, but rather a virtual machine on somebody's server. Or, maybe, our planet Earth can be classified as a "virtual machine", while other planets, starts, galaxies and so on are other virtual machines and computer networks connected by Space into our universe residing on somebody's computer in the lab. Who am I to know how exactly the Hardware of this universe is designed?
"Your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then settled Himself firmly on the Throne" (Qur'an, 7:54). Now, this I can picture! Power on your computer, launch the desired programs, then sit and watch what happens.
